PS: I also contacted Cubase support and will keep you updated if I have any news. This happens completely randomly up to twice a day and i dont know what the issue is.

As this seems to be plugin vendor specific, I also contacted the Waves and Plugin Alliance support teams. Do one of the following: Select Edit > Freeze/Unfreeze > Selected Tracks. Result: Project does not freeze, plugin loads more or less immediately (1-3 seconds). Procedure In the track list, select the tracks that you want to freeze. Then disconnect from the internet and proceed from step 2.

So I've been experiencing an issue were my pc will completely crash, rendering it useless unless i hard boot it off, and making a really high pitched buzzing noise. Result: Project freezes, plugin load time between 30 to 60 seconds. I've run out of ideas, but the functionality is integral to my workflow. Hello, I'm once again here with yet another problem. I am on macOS 12.3 but I’ve seen it on 12.2.1 as well. Force Quit is saying that Cubase 12 is unresponsive. Nothing that I tried above had a positive impact. When closing a project or quitting Cubase 12, the application freezes with the spinny lollypop.

* Tried using Internal Audio instead of sound-card

I can playback midi files and record midi data with a controller, but whenever I try to open the clip for manual edits, instant freeze (doesnt crash, just hangs forever). * Tried installing Cubase 12 as part of troubleshooting, behaves exactly the same Cubase freezes when I try to edit a midi clip (a double-click on the midi-clip or when trying to open the editor in other ways). Created an empty midi track and an empty clip in it, no instruments attached. The test project had no Virtual instruments or plugins. Cubase uses a sampling rate of 44KHz by default. When an audio device’s volume is too loud, it will bounce back and cause high pitched squeals. If it is too high, it could be causing the high pitch noise. Check out the volume settings on your microphone.

For Cubase, the less work required to create an audio file, the lower the sampling rate. If your drivers are not up-to-date, this may very likely be your issue. Sample Rate The number of audio samples sent per second is known as the sample rate. Then I cut paste the Cubase9 folder into a new folder on my desktop. AMD Drivers freeze system and create loud buzzing sound. Go to File > Settings > Studio> Select your audio device in the Devices list, then go to the Control Panel by clicking on it. * Created an empty project on internal SSD for testing. Basically, Cubase10 was taking presets from Cubase 9 folder in App Data. Please see the attached screenshot - the glitch as at the start of the selected audio segment (it’s a quiet flute part, nothing radical in it). Once in a while, Pitch shift causes super-loud metallic glitch at start of audio segment.

* Running Cubase with 3-rd party plugins disabled Windows Cubase Pro 10.0.20: this has already happened several times after the upgrade to Cubase 10 Pro. I can playback midi files and record midi data with a controller, but whenever I try to open the clip for manual edits, instant freeze (doesn't crash, just hangs forever). Has anyone had the same issues and perhaps have a way to fix it? Thanks so much.I have a really weird problem and have been unable to find any help from the depths of the Internet.Ĭubase freezes when I try to edit a midi clip (a double-click on the midi-clip or when trying to open the editor in other ways).

I am using an external ASIO driver (Model Mixer driver for a model 12 mixer), and a few external midi instruments (KORG, modal electronics, and casio drivers), but given that I have deleted personal preferences and still run into this problem I don't think it is the drivers causing the issues.

You can now use up to eight inputs, including the new Cubase Audio Interface and USB audio interface. It has a new audio engine that allows you to edit, mix and master audio files with a high degree of accuracy. I have tried starting without personal preferences and even with deleting personal preferences before starting and it still happens. Cubase 10 is also the first version to be able to import and export WAV files in 24-bit, 32-bit, and 96-bit formats. The pic is of a Toshiba but the principle is the same. Now, the program is freezing on the project selection/steinberg hub screen and even sometimes before that. One thing you can try if the temps are up is to shine a very bright light into the fan aperture and then look into the outlet vent if you cannot see much light then the cooling rad is blocked. I have to end the program through task manager. The program will freeze while playing back audio, and even though I continue to hear audio I can't stop playback, select anything on the menu bar, or even close the window. I am trying to use Cubase 11 Artist on my new windows computer (16 GB ram, Ryzen 7 5800x, more than capable) but it is constantly freezing.
